The house was recently completed and is for a family. The property is situated on the popular shingle beach in camber with panoramic views over Rye Bay. Our client had a vision for a modern house to host large gatherings of family and friends throughout the year. Welcoming in all seasons, the building is functional with generous living spaces and main bedrooms orientated to make the most of the sea views. During the summer large sliding doors open onto a landscaped beach front terrace with built in outdoor kitchen, seating, and slatted cedar screens.

A sheltered private courtyard to the rear contains a plunge pool and outdoor shower. White roman brick walls reflect the sunlight, and tall planting creates a calm oasis in contrast to the exposed beach front terrace. A cedar clad studio building with pre weathered zinc roof provides a retreat from the main family house.

Practical, light interiors with textured materials and integrated joinery throughout ensure a cosy and uncluttered feel. This highly insulated house runs off a ground source bore hole heat pump, roof mounted PV panels and mechanical heat recovery system.
