The scheme involved the demolition of a single dwelling and replacement with a contemporary apartment scheme consisting of 8 apartments spread over 3 floors.
The design focused each flat to have south facing outdoor spaces with the open plan living spaces facing out across the uninterrupted 180 degree sea views to the south coast.
Using Exhaust Air Heat Pumps for each flat, the scheme combines highly insulated and air tight building fabrics with renewable energy solutions to result in energy efficient units for occupants.
The proposals include significant communal gardens with mown paths and terraces set within a wildflower meadow, offering significant biodiversity improvements. The design for the building combines off white bricks with natural timber cladding and a zinc roof. Balconies are recessed into the building to frame the views out and provide privacy.
